Central Ohio Seeding & Erosion Control
We work with landscape and excavation contractors on new commercial construction sites along with land developers, home builders and municipalities to keep their project in EPA compliance and to make the project “greener”. Anything from a small repair job to a solar farm, Penlin can handle the work.
Our seed prep begins after finish work is done. Prepping the soil consist of working the soil in a manner to get the best turf establishment. Rock removal is achieved by Harley raking or rockhound the site. Crews use hand tools and small equipment where needed. Seed is installed with an array of seeders. The job is finished of with hydraulic mulch installed with multiple hydroseeders or straw mulch with multiple straw blowers.
We prepare the soil, disc, or fine grade, sow native prairie seed, wetland seed, wildflower seed, or any other type of seeds that are specified with a specialized native seeder. The site is covered with straw or hydraulic mulch for erosion.
Temporary seeding is soil stabilization often utilized when exposed soil will not be worked on over an extended period of time. This is done by planting a quick growing mixture and installing straw or hydromulch as cover.
Installation of silt fence, silt sock, check dams, drop inlet protection, and filter fabric inlet protection on storm drains. We also perform erosion control maintenance on new construction sites to be in compliance with SWPP.
Prepping and seeding is half of what it takes for good grass establishment. We fertilize and apply selective herbicide to establish grass throughout the growing season to cut out weeds and make the grass as healthy as possible. We employee a staff of extremely knowledgeable people who can make a lawn shine.
We import and install new growing media and sod and or seed on new athletic fields. We also perform an intensive regimen of fertilization, numerous selective herbicides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators on established athletic fields. We work with turf consultants and specialists to make these projects are perfect.
When installing lawns, sod, or native seeding, prep work is a critical part. We have an arsenal of equipment to get the job done. We use tractors, skid loaders, dozer, mini excavators, dingos, dump trucks, laser graders etc to prep and make sure job is ready for seed.
